America Investment Fund

Fund Description

The America Investment Fund is aimed at natural or artificial persons willing to invest in a US$ portfolio with a twofold purpose: (a) escaping the negative impact from Costa Rican currency devaluation on their savings and, (b) achieving capital appreciation through investment in a portfolio of U.S. company shares from different economic sectors listed at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the New York Stock Exchange or at NASDAQ. This fund is not recommended for temporary investment or investment on demand, but rather for investors willing to take the risks inherent in a portfolio made up of international private securities.

Characteristics

Floating. Profitability above that of S&P 500’s is expected. S&P 500, as known today, was introduced by Standard & Poor’s in 1957. It comprises a sample of 500 companies negotiating common shares in the New York Stock Exchange York (NYSE), the American Stock Exchange (ASE) and the NASDAQ e-market, and accounts for 90 specific industrial groups. S&P 500 is a weighted index of market value (shares times price) where each company influences the performance of the indicator on a fashion directly commensurate to its market value.

Regulation

This fund is registered with the Costa Rican Supervisory Agency (Superintendencia General de Valores -- SUGEVAL) and is regulated by the Stock Market Regulatory Act (Ley Reguladora del Mercado de Valores) and the fund prospectus.
