Grupo Aldesa is among the longest-standing organizations in the Costa Rican securities market. It was founded in 1968 as a financial and accounting consulting firm. Two years later, Aldesa Valores Puesto de Bolsa S.A. became the promoter and one of the founding partners of the Costa Rican Stock Market (Bolsa Nacional de Valores S.A.), which began operations in 1976.

In 1988 Grupo Aldesa helped usher in a new age in the Costa Rican securities market by introducing investment funds through Aldesa Sociedad de Fondos de Inversión S.A. From that time on, Aldesa has been developing a series of funds, both in the local and the international market, to meet its customer’s various needs. This is made up of a number of different fund types including liquidity, periodical income, growth, fixed and variable revenue, as well as open and closed funds.

Grupo Aldesa ´s experience gained in managing financial investment funds allowed pioneer in designing and structuring the first real estate collective investment instrument in Costa Rica in 1997, the forerunner of the real estate fund industry in the country. Later on, that instrument became the Real Estate, Revenue, and Surplus Value Investment Fund, one of the major funds in the industry.

With a commitment to fostering the development of the capital market, Grupo Aldesa created a Corporate Finance Division in 1998 which, in the last few years, has evolved into the Investment Banking Division. Currently this division provides high value-added service in corporate finance, funding structuring, and management investment in Central America.
